The Prince is here! I know everyone says that when a baby boy is born but you have to understand, Holden is the first boy born into our family in 116 years! Needless to say, we adore him. Nothing less than the best for our boy, so when my cousin asked me to design his room I went straight to the brand I know, trust, and love, Smartstuff Furniture by Universal.
The #myRoom convertible crib was the obvious choice for our little guy. I wanted to create a neutral and sporty theme for our athlete (ok, a little early but we are hopeful). Kara and Travis (aka Mom and Dad) are HUGE baseball fans of opposing teams, so my theme was easy. Once we chose our bed the rest fell into place. Because the bed is neutral yet rich in tone, I was able to include some statement decor, like custom-made wooden signs with their favorite team logos burned into them.
Blue, red, and beige touches look smart in the crib. The antique black finish allows for any theme or style.
The crib converts to a toddler bed, and then to a full-size bed seamlessly! Because the style is so classic we will have a gorgeous room for a very long time!
To complement the bed we also used the matching dresser and removable changing top with pad. Again, a brilliant transitional piece that is both beautiful and functional. Simply remove the changing surface and the dresser is ready for toddlers and teens! For a growing family, this piece is essential.
With features like the drop front drawer, soft closing drawers (perfect for late night changing), and removable drawer partitions; it will be easy to customize the dresser to Holden’s needs as he grows. But the most essential piece in the nursery right now is the gorgeous (and crazy comfortable) Smartstuff Lullaby Glider! Perfect for the neutral nursery theme, and in Kara’s words, “Perfect, because it doesn’t look like a typical nursery rocker. This is going in the living room when he’s older!” Late nights are much easier in this modern nursery rocker.
I nearly fell asleep in that chair after filming a little video with our sweet boy. We are so grateful to Universal and Smartstuff for the beautiful furniture. For the Flynn family, it was a great start to their growing family. They are proud and excited to show guests their darling nursery full of stylish, practical and smart (aka transitional) furniture that will last a lifetime. I’m looking forward to changing the nursery theme to something a little more girly in the future, hopefully!
