We are all aware of the devastation left by Hurricane Florence here in our home state, so we wanted to share some ways we can all get involved and help from our partner, Coastal Living. Thanks in advance for anything you can do as we continue to support and celebrate the coastal communities of the Carolinas.
The following organizations have great programs in place to provide relief to those affected by Florence:
To support immediate relief in the wake of Florence, you can donate to the North Carolina Disaster Relief Fund, the state’s official recovery fund.
The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) has set up a 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season Recovery Fund.
GlobalGiving’s Hurricane Florence Relief Fund is helping first responders meet survivors’ immediate needs, and after this, they will work with local organizations to support long-term recovery efforts.
Georgia’s MAP International provides disaster health kits, which include medicine and other essential health items to prevent the spread of disease in the wake of national disasters.
Donations made to the Charleston Animal Society will help support animal rescue efforts in the affected areas of South Carolina.
The Louisiana Cajun Navy is a network of volunteers (with boats) who assist in search-and-rescue operations.
Task Force 75, a volunteer-run disaster response team of military veterans provides search-and-rescue teams, first aid, and general humanitarian assistance to affected areas.
